Welcome back to Streaming Made Easy (SME).
It’s back to school but one more deep dive into the most read pieces of H1 2024.
This week, we’re travelling to Broadcast Land and how fitting since we are 1 week away from IBC 2024.
Enjoy today’s read.
I don't buy the doom and gloom narrative about Broadcast TV.
Yes the golden days are gone. Hundreds of companies from streaming to social now compete for our daily attention.
But looking at European broadcasters' latest earnings and launches, I see businesses operating their transformation, not dying ones.
To that end, I have at heart to shed light on local and regional players from Broadcast TV who work hard to transform themselves and adapt to new viewing habits.
→ You got to respect UK Broadcasters' ability to work together.
→ Here’s how a 50-year old broadcaster adjusts to the new era of television and entertainment.
→ And others have followed suit.
→ My favourite time of the year is coming up as I see Media & Entertainment people flocking to Amsterdam for IBC (International Broadcasting Convention). Amsterdam feels like London or Paris for a few days.
Come say hi, I have several cool panels happening.
I also wrote a specific piece to kick-off IBC, out on Friday 13th (promise it’s not scary!).
That’s it for today but before you go:
Enjoy your weekend and see you next Friday for another edition of Streaming Made Easy!
