Welcome back to Streaming Made Easy (SME) and today it’s SME’s birthday!
Woo girl mode on.
This week’s edition is n°52.
52 weeks of writing. I can’t believe it. It’s been a hell of a ride.
Let’s reflect for a moment and look at what’s coming next.
Today at a glance:

Why I started Streaming Made Easy?
As much as I love writing short form content on Linkedin, I felt topics called for a deeper level of analysis.
I also wanted to avoid relying only on a borrowed audience which is what LinkedIn offers (and other social media platforms).
Why?
Because you are dependent on their audience growth strategy, their product development.
You are at their mercy. Your content can become invisible overnight.
Case in point: I recently found out that a French Content Creator got locked out for no reason. It’s been a month and there was no sign of LinkedIn supporting her so her community stepped in successfully.
LinkedIn is my distribution platform.
My newsletter is my relationship platform.
The place where I build a 1 on 1 relationship with my subscribers.
What is Streaming Made Easy today?
It’s your 5-min read to get a European take on the Global Streaming Video Business.
Every Friday directly to your inbox. 100% Free. Unsubscribe anytime.
→ What makes SME different?
I dissect the latest news and trends in the streaming video industry through a European lens because I’m inherently convinced that there is no one size fits all recipe for success in streaming.
SME covers a wide range of topics: CTV, Pay TV, FAST, AVOD, SVOD, Sports. It also ventured in the world of In Car Entertainment and will explore more topics beyond the big screen.
→ Who reads SME?
Join 1.3K+ Streaming professionals from a wide range of Media, Entertainment & Tech companies (e.g. Samsung, Pluto TV, Orange, BBC, TF1, Apple, Amazon and more).
The audience is international (read in 72 countries) with the US and the UK at the top.
What would I do differently?
→ I would have written a few editions before I got started.
I mostly write week on week and it brings a level of stress when this comes on top of my consulting work.
→ I would have collaborated with fellow writers and newsletters earlier.
It’s fun and powerful.
→ I would have experimented a bit more but I have to say I lack the tools and insights to do it properly.
What’s next?
Editorial
On the editorial front, you saw a change these last few months.
I moved from a 3-part edition (analysis, streamer snapshot, content recommendation) to a single-topic edition.
This will stay on but I will bring new formats throughout 2024:
→ Local Heroes Series
→ Global Heroes Series
→ Behind the Tech Series
→ More theme-based Series
Collaborations
A lot more of these coming up. They will join me here and I will join them wherever they are (well maybe not on TikTok, although I got a few moves of my own).
If you have a newsletter in the Media & Entertainment space, respond to this email or DM me on LinkedIn to pitch a writing collaboration.
Business model
SME will remain free, at least for now.
I’m indeed keen to find the right way to monetise the newsletter. Still a work in progress.
New ways to engage with you
I wouldn’t do my job right if I was not looking at new ways to spend time with you.
At this point, everything is still on the table for 2024 so stick around to hear the latest about the Streaming Made Easy mini media empire.
